It's hard to know what flowers to buy for someone with cats. What if there was a flower shop that catered to those with cats and helped educate people about the dangers of toxic flowers?
Our mission is to gift those with cats with beautiful flowers and bouquets! Cats love plants and flowers, but many are toxic and poisionous to them. Everyone can have beautiful flowers for them and their cats, whether real or not. Mio's flower wants to not only educate customers, but allow for more awareness about the dangers of randomly buying flowers for a cat lover.
Mio is the inspiration behind this brand. He was an abondonded house cat that by some miracle was picked up by the luckiest middle school girl.
Mio was a coincidental name; given without a meaning at the time, but "mio" means many things in various langauges. Mio means mine in Spanish and my in Italian. Mio means beautiful cherry blossom in Japanese. So many coincidences created such a beautiful relationship and loving name.
Mio means many things in various languages, but his name was initially given without any meaning attached. However, the word mio means many things in various languages. One of which is Japanese and has the meaning of a beautiful sakura. That's why Mio's Flower is a sakura. This Japanese influence is also translated through the stamp like shape and character placement.
The project brief stated students must create a brand identity system for a fictional business. This business must be product-based. Students also needed to include a physical texture in their identity system, as well as create 3 physical objects designed for this brand.
For this project, I created 4 physical brand applications. The first one is a flower menu, teaching customers what common flower should and shouldn't be around cats. The right side is also perferated, so it can be separated into a bookmark, which also functions as a business card!
The next item is a thank you card. These thank you cards are to be left on the counter as a little free gift to customers. Or if there was an online or pickup order, these can be put inside the bags. They differ in the photo of Mio, so they can be collectables as well!
Then I made a small booklet containing information about each flower and bouquet. This would help customers understand more about the specific flowers, the meanings, how to care for them, andd what the price is.
Finally, I made a personalized card design in case a customer is gifting flowers to another person. The customer is able to customize it, with the option of a handwritten or typed message.
